One of the best-remembered earlier businesses at this property was Village Nursery.

Community memories connect the nursery with the Hall family, including Joe and Miriam Hall, and later with Sandy Babcock. People especially remember the flowers and plants sold there, including African violets.

There are also recollections connecting the property with a nursery called Pinewood or Dwyer’s. The exact relationship between those names and Village Nursery is not firmly established, so they remain part of the remembered history rather than being presented as confirmed separate businesses.
