Older information identifies Elk Garage at 501 N. Main Street, establishing an early automotive connection at the address.

Community memories place a Plymouth and DeSoto dealership on the right side of the property during the 1940s and 1950s, with a gas station operating on the left.

After the dealership period, the property continued to serve mechanical and equipment-related businesses. A lawn mower and small-engine repair shop is remembered here, and one resident recalled going with her father to the south side of the building to buy parts for his Lawn-Boy mower.

The property later became associated with Honda motorcycles. Several memories identify a Honda shop or Honda Dynamics at the location, while Lotten Brake is remembered operating from another portion of the property during the 1970s and 1980s.

Mike Mihos later recalled the progression from the DeSoto dealership to small-engine repair and then Honda Dynamics before opening Classic Car Care in March 1987.

Classic Car Care has remained at the address ever since, continuing the property’s long connection to practical vehicle service through auto detailing and washing.

A later chapter brought North Coast Brewing’s Brewery Shop pickup to Suite A. Although unrelated to automotive work, it continued the property’s familiar role as a convenient stop where people could pull in, take care of an errand, and get back on Main Street.
