The Mendocino village tasting room represents the coastal end of that story. By 2022, published travel coverage was already describing Meyer Family Cellars at 45156 Main Street as the Mendocino offshoot of the family's Yorkville winery, with a modern tasting room and garden overlooking the coast.

The storefront itself had other lives before wine arrived.

A community memory adds another layer to the building. At one time, a hairdresser worked upstairs, serving local families while enjoying what was remembered as a particularly good view.
